Watch the video of a Boeing 767 take off.
How did the wing shape change during take off?
Why do you think this was?
Thanks to everyone for the feedback on your visit. It was great fun having so many keen young scientists in the lab and we look forward to another visit.
What would you like to do next time?

This is interesting. The shape of the wing looks longer and slimmer after it took off.

i really enjoyed this lesson. it taught me a lot about flight, planes, forces and motion. i really liked the way the seating was layed out to look like a plane, and i really liked the pilot uniform, even if it did get a bit wet towards the end!!!

Thanks Mr West for the lesson on flight/aerodynamics. It certainly beats doing maths. We now know why when we fly on a plane that we don’t just go moving forward and crash into the security barrier of the airport.

The water rocket was awesome – even if the parachute didn’t always work, I think it was because the nose was pushed no to hard. Anyway, we all had a great time, especially making the paper airofoil.

I liked the water rockets, especially when you got hit by a, or was it 2, rocket attacks, but I wonder what’ll happen if it was full of coke?
