About thirty students from Glen Eden Intermediate visited the science department on wednesday. They did some experiments on chemicals found at home.
They tested to see whether they were acids or bases and noted the pH values.
They worked really hard and are welcome to return for another visit later this year. Well done guys.

I liked it when the SO4 destroyed the sugar, but next time we do a chemistry experiment, can we mix stuff?

It was really great learning about acids and bases by making our own indicator. GO RED CABBAGE!!!!!!!

this was awsome!! i found it fascinating to see sugar burn up when it was added to a liquid that looked like plain water! i also found it really interesting testing the acids and bases.

It was really fun making the indicator our class enjoyed doing it so much that we made it at syndicate assembly, with some good audience reactions when it turned a bright pink and pale blue! :p

I loved mixing the acids and bases in the test tubes to create lots of different colours stacked on top of each other, and bubbling effects.

The Chemistry was awesome! It sure beat doing maths and english. Thanks a bunch for going out of your way to teach us all about pH numbers and about acids and alkalines.

Sorry, Wrote the comment on the wrong video!
I had great fun as this was the first time in a real lab. Thanks a lot!

Thanks for teaching us to make our own indicator. We showed it at a syndicate assembly. Of course, they thought we were pouring water into some purple liquid. But at least they learnt something……. I think.
